Challenge
Housing, gas, groceries, healthcare premiums: everything costs more every year, and the employees at G&A's client businesses feel it first. Some were paying "crazy amounts" to check-advance companies just to reach their next paycheck.
Alex has watched how that stress travels. It doesn't stay home after 5 p.m. It follows people into their 9-to-5, pulling their focus toward where they'll find money this week instead of the job in front of them.
"Housing market, gas prices, milk, you name it. How do they survive at home, provide for their family, and do it with a smile on their face? If we can help them a little bit with any of that, then we're doing our job," says Alex.
Solutions
G&A's VP of Payroll came to Alex with three reasons to act: a great team, a strong product, and employees who were "clamoring for a product like this."
G&A compared several earned wage access providers before choosing ZayZoon. Alex's role was to speak for the client: how would a business owner react to this? He gave the go-ahead, and ZayZoon was built into G&A's payroll system as a tile employees already see. Nothing changed for clients. The whole rollout came down to one message: "Here's where you can find it. Go sign up and go."
The hardest part wasn't setup. It was convincing people it was real.
Clients' first question was always "Where's the catch?" Alex's team explained it, then let the first employee prove it. From there it spread the way good benefits do: at the water cooler, at lunch and out on the job.
"We haven't had a single client or a single employee who has used it once and said, 'I'm not going to use it again.' It's only grown."
Employer Spotlight

Alex Osborne didn't envision being in HR.
Fifteen years ago he was implementing self-pay programs in hospitals, on the road three weeks out of every four while trying to start a young family. When a friend in the PEO world asked for help with operations, he made the jump. Then he earned his HR designations so he could hold his own with clients and industry leaders.
Today he's VP of Client Success at G&A Partners. He leads the team that advises thousands of businesses, from two-person shops to companies with thousands of employees.
His advice to employers on the fence: "Your employees are going to get it somewhere and are going to need it from somewhere. Why not be at the forefront of that?"
