THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accountant - Treasury is a key player in the Finance team. A primary focus will be on the treasury function through
tracking, maintaining, and overseeing daily movement of money from bank accounts. Working with internal and external parties to ensure any
discrepancies in funds flow are resolved lightning fast! This role also participates in general accounting activities to ensure our reporting KPIs are met
and exceeded. Key accountabilities also include producing high quality deliverables within tight deadlines while juggling competing priorities, and
assisting with projects to level up the department.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Treasury
  • Daily monitoring of corporate credit card balances
  • Generate weekly payment files for timely processing
  • Prepare and process bank account journal entries into the accounting system (MS 365 Business Central)
  • Timely preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Serve as an administrator for ZayZoon credit card programs and account reconciliations
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls for cash management

General Accounting

  • Prepare expense reports and process accounts payable
  • Perform day to day accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining continuity schedules, and accounting for corporate
  • activities
  • Perform period-end procedures to meet target reporting dates
  • Assist with year-end financial statement audit
  • Assist with design and documentation of business processes
  • Assist with analysis of key financial accounts
  • Prepare various ad hoc reports and support key accounting projects
  • Work with all levels and departments in the company to ensure a smooth and accurate flow of information

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Treasury Accounting including foreign exchange, liquidity and cash management
  • Minimum of 3 years’ full cycle accounting experience
  • Computer savvy self starter with an ability to learn new tools quickly
  • Advanced Excel Skills – comfortable in functions required to create and work with pivot tables, look up and match functions
  • Experience using macros for repetitive tasks, Power BI, and/or Power Query
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Candidates must be based in Canada in order to be considered.

We are organized as a remote team, as such we are looking for candidates who can work effectively remotely. You must have access to a secure high speed internet connection and a secure workspace to ensure security of private information. This role is available on a permanently remote basis.

Due to the nature of our business the chosen candidate must undergo a criminal record check and a basic security clearance.
